SUMMARY: Provide a safe environment for persons on Casino property, patrol and provide security for casino buildings and property. Responsible for medical emergencies at the Casino and its surrounding areas. The "EMT/ Security Officer” means the (EMT) works as a member of the LPSD. Basic duties: administers first-aid treatment and assists paramedics and other emergency medical service personnel in providing emergency and non-emergency patient care to sick or injured guests and employees, until patients can be transported to hospitals or other medical care facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assists paramedics and other emergency medical service personnel in providing
emergency and non-emergency medical and health care.
Responds to instructions from the EMS Director for emergencies or to the Casino Floor Supervisor for non-emergency incidents.
Communicates with professional medical personnel at a hospital to get instructions regarding further treatment and to arrange for the victim’s transport or arrival at the hospital. May assist professional medical personnel in emergency treatment administered on scene at our facility.
Administers prescribed first-aid treatment at the site of an emergency. This could include treatments such as applying splints, administering oxygen, treat minor wounds or abrasions, or administering artificial resuscitation.
Arranges transport for patients to hospitals or other emergency care facilities.
Maintains medical and communication equipment and replenishes first aid and medical equipment supplies.
Cleans and maintains the EMT room for readiness of patient care.
Prepares medical and reports of incidents for submission to the Security/EMS Director.
Performs other related emergency medical support duties as needed/directed.
Patrols buildings and grounds to prevent and detect fire, burglary, vandalism, and mechanical malfunctions.
Talks and communicates with the public, other employees, and converses by radio and telephone as necessary to ensure quick respond to security related situations.
Reports suspicious activity as required.
Conducts safety inspections of the Casino during shift.
Checks doors and windows; may patrol Casino parking lots.
Responds to requests for assistance in instances of fights or other disturbances.
Confronts and detains unauthorized visitors.
Removes customers from Casino as instructed.
Reports unsafe emergency situations.
Provides escort protection for employees if requested.
Gives information and direction to customers and responds to complaints.
Prepares required documentation of activities.
Communicates effectively and professionally on a two-way radio and monitors the radio for medical calls for assistance and related EMS needs.
Observe and report any incidents that occur in the Casino.
Provides traffic control assistance when required.
Responsible for maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality, professionalism and ethical business conduct.
Other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Current valid Emergency Medical Technician certificate issued by the State of Calif. Or by an EMT certifying agency approved by the State of Calif., County of San Diego EMT System ID card.
Current certification for Basic Life Support for First Aid, CPR and AED
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to talk and to communicate with the public, other employees, and converse by radio and telephone as necessary to ensure quick respond to security related situations. 
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints form customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions
Knowledge of rules, regulations, policies and procedures of all Tribal, State and Federal jurisdiction.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required
Must submit to and clear a pre-employment drug screening.
Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
Ability to obtain a valid gaming license.
